Collection and Use of Sex-Disaggregated Data
Chinese Taipei has developed eleven indicators for the sex-disaggregated data since 1999. They are: social security, health, education, social participation, transportation, environment, family & marriage, mass media, culture & leisure, and economic & employment. A new indicator “aboriginal” will be added in order to discuss the relationship between ethnicity and gender.
The central government has each added gender focal points into the network. They are requested to use the gender criteria when deciding on budgets, during policy-making, and planning projects. These focal points act as key persons in implementing the idea of gender mainstreaming into the government.
