The Framework for the Integration of Women in APEC was recommended by the Ministerial Meeting on Women in 1998. It is a practical approach to enhance women's participation in economic development and comprised of three inter-related elements: gender analysis, colleciton and use of sex-disaggregated data, and involvemnet of women in APEC.
